Direct Buy complaint by Jkhlee10
I ordered Diamond kitchen cabinet through Direct Buy. Expected delivery time was 6 to 8 weeks. When I got the cabinets delivered I checked each items. There were missing parts, broken cabinet, wrong size panels. I reorder a cabinet that is broken which took two weeks or more. This came broken again.I reorder same cabinet again. Reodered cabinet came broke again. So we decided to fix instead of waiting another 2 weeks for reorder. Now panel that I reodered didn't come yet. These problems made me to delay my kitchen remodeling project for almost 8 weeks. My family has to eat out extra 6 to 8 weeks. I wonder whether it's worth paying $5000 for a Direct Buy membership or not. This way I wouldn't recommend one.

I agree with one of the poster, support your local small business owner. Your $5000 would have cost me a small kitchen renovate with granite slabs, not tiles, but slabs. A whole kitchen with labor for $5000 from a Chinese dealer in Oakland, Ca who agrees in installment payment. Within 3 weeks new kitchen. Advice for new home buyer, DIY. Learn trade skills it's more fun that way & you learn things so that you don't get duped by the likes of Direct Buy. Go to Home Depot and take one of their classes or ask a carpenter and hire them for two hours a week for a few weeks to learn the trade. You also build network and meet business owners who sells construction materials for a lot less.

A friend of mine reps for Omega Cabinetry which is a diamond brand as well. The product line they offer to DB is what we call in the trade "seconds" they will not stand by it because it is that nature. You are better off getting a local person to fix your problem. This is why people should support the small business which do not see you as a number but an actual paying customer.

We had a complete kitchen put in - about $25,000 worth of Diamond cherry cabinets. About 2 yrs. later we started getting huge bleached out wide streaks on several of the doors - not the 'blending' kind. We called the store we bought them from and found that since it was 2 years Diamond would not stand behind anything. We called the rep. ourselves and basically were told tough - that's what happens with cherry. Would definitely NOT purchase Diamond cabinets again!

BEWARE!
