Totally not true! DirectBuy has a bigger selection! They have several cabinet makers to choose from, they have a large selection of flooring unlike DirectPlus where you will need to go to a different location to look at flooring options. DirectBuy has the staff to handle all there members needs. DirectBuy NEVER "high pressured" me to become a member. DirectBuy also has the contractor(s) to handle all my construction neads from windows to gutters to garage doors. And the location and atmosphere, DirectPlus is a warehouse with a butch of books... OUTDATED! DirectBuy is up to date with technology.... See and experience it for yourself! If you want quality at whoesale prices in a awesome environment go to DIRECTBUY!!!

Direct Buy - Membership Review from Birmingham, Alabama

Joined direct buy in October 2014 in birminham Al. The store closed 2 months later.

I want out of my contract because it's not what I signed up for. Was told we can come in the store and shop and now there is no store. Was told I would have to drive to Atlanta which is the closest one. I'm a hands on shooper not a internet shopper, the people inherited e store assured me I could come to the store!

I'm sure they knew the store was closing an lied about it all! I will get a lawyer to resolve this deceitful manner in which I was tricked.

I am also in your situation with the Birmingham showroom location. DirectBuy emphasizes the value of exclusive access to the showroom and hundreds of manufacturer catalogs and price lists.

Then they close and tell us that online is just as good. It isn't! I am seeking a remedy and would like to discuss it with you.

MAJOR SCAM!!! WORSE THAN A TIMESHARE SCAM!!!

spendt an hour and half listening to their sales pitch...what a bunch of ***!

They told us we would receive a free android tablet and $100 restaurant card. Another lie, they didn't have any tablets, but we could return once they came in, another 45 min drive and $5.00 in tolls.. the gift cards you had to download a coupon book, which were only good at certain restaurants (once u already bought a meal)! Why couldn't they have told us they didn't have any the tablets at the time of our appt? They had our contact number!!! Did research on the company...not too many satisfied members, BUYER BEWARE!!

SCAM..SCAM..SCAM!! JUST LIKE WALL STREET SCAM!!!

Direct Buy - Furniture Warranty Review

Direct buy of myrtle beach, sc I to bought into direct buy for $5,000! My first experience trying to find what I wanted in their numerous catalogues was to say the least, very frustrating and mind boggling. Employees continued to be preoccupied with other potential "suckers," and wouldn't give me the time of day. I left feeling so frustrated, but went back a week later only to get the same treatment again. I'm now realizing that I gave them $5,000 and now they don't want to have any thing to do with me. Over two years I ordered flooring and furniture. No problem with flooring other than the company they recommended damaged several items in my home and acted like it was no big deal. The furniture came damaged. The warehouse manager came to my house, took photos of the damage and wrote down my complaints. I never heard back from anyone and finally heard that the store had closed. I called Lane, the furniture manufacture, told my story, they were very kind, but said they had no record of the stores report on the furniture damage. Needless to say, now the warranty has expired. My first feeling was right, took my money and ran. Now I'm getting mail to rejoin! Closest store is 4 to 5 hours away. Sure I will be right there, not!!!!

6 21 2014 DirectBuy Dont Go!

We received a letter to invite us to a 90 minute presentation and we would receive a 100 restaurant gift card and a Android tablet. We called made an appointment went through the presentation and at the end decided that paying the 4800.00 and 400.00 wasn't what we wanted to spend at this time. Come to find out the restaurant gift card is just 10 or 15.00 you brought them to the download and print off, and they are limited certificates. I wonder if you brought them to the restaurant if they would even honor the certificates that would be embarrassing. And for the Android Table it is refurbished and so old that you can't even update it. If you want people to listen to the presentation why nut just be honest. Glad we opted out of that gimmick.

Reminds me of an online purchase I made last year....it came with $100 towards a restaurant certificate. There were hundreds of restaurants available but only a few within 50 miles of me.

So I went to one and they no longer dealt with the certificate company. So we ordered lunch anyway. We should have left. The restaurant was really a bar....dark and grimey.

The bar tender on staff said he could make our lunch. It was awful.

I bought a membership from him. Now the new manager says it wasn't paid for at the Peoria/Arrowhead/Glendale Arizona franchise.

I even have a receipt. There are better deals out there. Turns out Russ Bosworth is a felon; and they let him own/manage the business. They don't know where he is, but they are checking their records (I have my own) to see if they can "accommodate" me.

I PAID. How can they tell me my membership is not usable?

Please read these posts and the posts from complaints.com. They are stacked against this company. The company has changed its advertising language to reflect LESS savings than originally advertised (60%) off retail.

Who pays retail anyway? Stay far away from Direct Buy of Phoenix/Peoria/Glendale.

Very aggressive store selling. My daughter in-law worked there for 3 weeks.

Her pay was short :? However, she did come home saying there where wine cellars for half the cost.

I'd rather have a shed. I can have a better shed built for me on sight for what they charge.

Cancelled the contract Direct buy club ignored the certified mail

I sent direct buy located at , 1 Chelsea Parkway, Suite 102, Chelsea Business Park, Boothwyn, PA 19061 a signed cancellation certified mail the next day after signing the contract. Shadaria Turner signed for it but never canceled the membership. So now they have their finance company Beta Finance trying to collect and they never returned my $299. As it states on the contract if canceled within three business days. Any payments made will be returned within 10 business days. Need to have consumers warned and see how many more are being taken advantage of by this type of fraud.

They did not go out of business due to embezzlement. There were two owners.

One couple ran the place while the other owners lived out of state and were basically investors. The ones who ran the store did embezzle. They were fired/relinquished of their franchise rights. The other couple who lived out of state did not want the hassle of operating a store.

But they kept it going for a while hoping someone would buy the franchise. Thats why they were just investors from the beginning. They tried to sell the franchise for a few years with no buyer.

So they just decided to close the doors. Please make sure you get your stories correct before you post non sense filled with emotion.

That is such a false statement. I know both owners and there was no embezzlement.

The one set of owners that were investors had controlling interest and refused to pay the owner operators and used fales allegations to strong arm them to relinquish their shares. Operators were experienced individuals that were micromanaged into running a poor operation.

Excellent program. We have saved more money than we spent easily. We could save a lot more if had cash flow. The deals are there, but you save the most on high end products like furniture, high end electronics, and jewelry. They explain all of this up front. Over the past 8 years or so, the service as even continued to improve with the ability to by online. If you are renovating your home or replacing all your furniture, you should consider this. The expense on the front end will save you thousands. If you don't have thousands to spend, then this is not for you.

They lie about the 8%.. they make money off what you buy!

They lie and when they tell you they do not make any money off what you buy is false! The 8% the local club keeps. I am an ex-employee and I know this is true. I have seen more complaints on no savings on appliances and electronics as well as entry level furniture. This was a great concept that went bad. Memberships are $5000 and higher. The ads they show you either are old examples, fabricated or found from the highest sales price. Go to link below and lets spread the word via Facebook! Terrible customer service. Reps don't return phone calls and we live an hour and a half from the DirectBuy store, which makes it difficult and expensive for us to have face to face contact when we don't hear back from them.

We've spent more than $45,000 in two years, and they still don't return phone calls on inquiries or concerns. I have complained before, and all that resulted was that we obviously were blackballed, with reps behaving even more "put out" by our phone calls or face to face contacts. I don't get it. How can they stay in business with such horrible service!

We paid $5000 for the membership and now regret having done it because of their terribly unprofessional and rude customer service.

Strong arm tactics to join

I was invited to attend open house seminar. When I arrived, I was told unless I made a decision to join, there is no point for me to attend presentation, as this is my only chance to join. I said I would like to see presentation and then decide. After, I was told to pay $5,000+ for membership. I said I would like to think it over and was told this is not an option. If I was to buy a car, I could think it over, so I left. Although showroom was impressive, I am skeptical about availability of all products showcased.

We've been members since 1983 and the products really are available and it has also been well worth it for us. It unfortunately sounds like you may not have had a very ethical business culture coming at you. I would have walked out too.

I thought I was going to save. I joined a 3-year membership for a total of $6257, including finance fees.

WASTE of time and money. Been a member since Jan 2011. Items I like were either not available at their catalogs or cheaper at other stores.

I will not save unless I am a contractor, buys items in bulk, or spends $25K a year on stuff.

well what would an ordinary person think when presented with an idea and told it is what it says it is "directbuy" and then ask how to get some items , say for example car tires! and then told to go see some off the wall tire sales in my hometown that when I went to see them! the tireshop told me they cant sell me tires directly from the manufacturer because they have to make money too. lolol I was like aaa yeah . ooo and how about deals deals deals , bought a huge cabinet entertainment center supposedly was supposed to be solid wood and I even asked that when I made the order, lol and soo we get it home and lol the product wasn't even finished as far as dowl holes were missing for the glass shelves, and how about the microwave falling to pieces after a month or soo lol and the lumber for the 1000 foot privacy fence from directbuys awesome retailer"lumber one" warping even after fence was done , looks terrible !!!!" this direct buy was a gimmick from the start . they know it too after all its all about the money folks lololol . I insure you all that I havnt a *** good thing about direct buy nore the lieng cheating scamming crooks that run it . ever hear of" karma" lololol

They will shut down the store on you once you invest 5500 in members fee and tell you to go online their snail pace website to shop. all the promise of price matching, or designer help will be null and void don't fall for this scam business

I keep getting emails from this guy to ask me to make a comment on this link Other than the emails and me taking the time to do this I am happy. If I was not already a members who has used the services at DirectBuy of Houston North I would be scared after reading the *** out there on this site. Im glad I am a member and have saved a lot of cash on big and small items.
